The interior of Muzak's global core is divided into 21 interior volumes of identical size, eighteen of which are empty shells that can be filled and rearranged flexibly. Between each of these volumes are main circulation corridors (20' wide) that run horizontally across the building and secondary corridors (15' wide) that run along its depth. Programmatic divisions are not limited to the confines of individual volumes, but spread out across the building. Self-steering people movers facilitate efficient movement and servicing of the massive volume. Service cores run along both ends of the building.

Muzak RTP provides flexible and personal space for Muzak's employees while maintaining architectural and organizational clarity. Its straightforward use of inexpensive materials contributes to the cost-effectiveness of the building and the responsible management of the company. It helps distance Muzak from the unaccountability and lack of productivity which typified the interactive and new media companies of the nineties.
